Launch night

Do these before you press start. Graphics modes for GTA 6 are not published.

• Same account you will play on. A box code has to match that store region.
• Read free space if you still need room. PS5: Settings → Storage → Console Storage. Space.

• Physical is a code in the box, not a disc. If the box just arrived, redeem first. Steps: Preload.
• If anything is still downloading, leave the console on wall power. Rest Mode: Settings → System → Power Saving → Features Available in Rest Mode → Stay Connected to the Internet. Preload.
• If anything is still downloading, leave the console on wall power. Do not unplug it. Queue: Home → My games & apps → Queue. Preload.
• Confirm the install finished. Do not launch a half download.
• Spoilers stay off in the header unless you turn them on.

After the install

• Vents clear. Official console setup pages.
• Wired Ethernet if you have it. Not required.
• Use an HDMI 2.1 port if the TV has one, and turn on Game Mode. Console can do 4K / 120 / VRR / HDR. GTA 6 modes are not published.
• The pad you already own works. Official GTA DualSense editions are optional. Controllers.
• The pad you already own works. No official Xbox GTA pad. Controllers.
• Screenshots stay on the console. PlayDesk does not host clips.

What to ignore on night one

Leaked maps, money routes, and “do this first” videos. None of that is an official requirement. Official install size is not published — the 200 GB reserve is our label on Storage. PC date is not announced.
